Lantana montevidensis (Purple Trailing Lantana) - A low-growing mat-forming plant that grows to 2 feet tall and trails to 10 feet with lilac purple flowers. It thrives in full sun or light shade. It is drought tolerant, deer resistant, and tolerant of seaside conditions. It is hardy down to about 20 degrees F.
This plant is a tough old time groundcover and blooms all the time. This description is based on our research of Lantana montevidensis and our observations of it growing in the nursery, in our own garden and in other gardens. We would appreciate getting feedback from anyone who has any additional information about this plant, even if they disagree with what we have written.
